Affordable Space Adventures is a 2D side scrolling spaceship simulator. You are using the Wii U GamePad as a “Heads Down Display” – spaceship cockpit, and you have to configure all the systems in order to fly around undetected on an alien planet. You can either play it alone or fly as a crew of 2-3 players. When multiple players are playing together the operational tasks are divided between them. This makes the experience a cooperative challenge not only in the puzzles, but also in operating the craft itself.
I joined this project shortly after I began working for KnapNok in early 2014. My role was initially as a programmer, focusing primarily on interface and UI, but later it became more design oriented as we began working on the upcoming DLC for the game. This game has been an amazing journey and I’m proud to have been part of the team that brought it to life.
The game was released as a Nintendo Wii U exclusive on April 9, 2015.
